Advanced Sash Makeover Workshop
Five Days. Six Lites. True Restoration.
Location: The Historic 1929 Hotel Seville in Harrison, Arkansas
WindowLympics training for: S2G Performance + Finish Division Showcase
This is where Window Craft meets the WindowLympics. You’ll work on 1-3/4” thick, six-lite sash—too advanced for beginner workshops but perfect for artisans ready to refine real-world, performance-level skills.
Starting with historic sash removed from active frames, you'll learn how to strip, restore, reglaze, and finish with speed and quality. The class is structured around the 3-hour S2G competition metric, giving you the pacing, teamwork, and repetition needed to work in rhythm.
🗓️ Daily Schedule
Day 1: Disassembly & Surface Prep (S2G)
Assist in removing original sash from active window frames (M2P). Begin scraping flats, chipping out glazing, sanding profiles, and assessing condition. Set the pace for a week of focused momentum.
Day 2: Glazing Day (Batch Round One)
Clean, prime, and glaze a minimum of 3 sash—4 is the goal. Learn to move with rhythm and flow while handling real-world glass with care. Apply “magic dust” for optimal putty cure.
Day 3: Glazing Day (Batch Round Two)
Go for broke: Complete 2 full Strip-to-Glaze (S2G) sash within an 8-hour window. You’ll train toward the WindowLympics metric of 3 hours per sash—a real-world goal with real pressure and real reward.
Day 4: Structural Repair
Repair rot, failed joints, and historic damage using dutchman patches, sash clamping, and Abatron epoxy systems. Learn when to cut, when to fill, and how to preserve historic integrity.
Day 5: Glazed to Finished Sash (G2F)
Paint and polish your completed sash for presentation. Execute clean lap lines, perfect finishes, and prepare for the Finish Division Showcase.
